You will need Windows 10/11 with 8 GB RAM and about 850 MB disk space to run AI Ranger. Older Windows versions will also likely work, but are not officially supported. You don't need special hardware or a Copilot PC. Even the integrated local AI will run smoothly on a budget laptop.
At the default settings we use only AIs that actually run entirely in Europe. For example, we offer Claude, but we do not use the API from Anthropic (the US company that created Claude). Instead we use a version hosted by AWS, which provides us with the ability to very specifically select where the AI runs (and we select an EU location). We also allow you to select other AIs that run in the US or globally, but you need to switch to them explicitly in the settings. The AIs are clearly marked, so that you know where they run.
“No Tracking” means that we do not track what you do on our website or in our products. We only store or transfer data if it is necessary to provide the functionality you are using. If data must be sent to servers, we avoid permanently storing it whenever possible. In the rare cases where we have to store it, we only use the data to deliver the requested service and we delete it as soon as possible. You can find more details in our privacy policy.
Our business model is very simple: we sell software. Only that. We do not sell our user's data (in fact, we do not collect any). We do not bundle third party software with our installations. We do not show ads. We do not collect email addresses to send you marketing emails. If you buy a Pro version, the price you see is all you pay. There is no hidden fee where you pay with your data or your privacy or get annoyed with ads or spam emails. We want to prove that just making honest software still works and we think many people value this and like to support it.
We do not like the usual marketing tactics on the internet, where companies pretend that the price of their product is higher so that they can offer you a discount and get you to buy. We value honesty very highly. So we set a price and that price is the same for everyone. You do get an automatic discount for the yearly plan, because you make a longer commitment. We also offer discounts to business customers if they buy a larger number of licenses (again, because this is a larger commitment). So everyone pays the same price and you do not have to hunt for coupon codes. We think that is fair.
